you are my shadow
running stretching
to greet the night
where stars will
gleam in your
eyes
this sunset lustre
reaching
if I can
I will make it
and the darkness
will fill me
and it shall be

Past as present...
sunset behind me
I used to watch the night rise
sitting at the lake
on the dock
winter summer spring and fall
huddled under an eave
while rain thundered down
the drops flashing quickly
in the light from the window
and doorway
im past the age now
where I was immortal
I feel the winter
falling
tender and cruel
its wisdom that drives
the hunger back
when the fire weakens
and its Love that warms
the hearth
of the soul
when the ship is breaking
beneath me on jagged
coral
the flair and excitement
of destiny
I could hear her singing
I dont care if I cant
swim
....

poetry just flows from you ..
poetry just flows from you ...
"and its Love that warms
the hearth
of the soul
when the ship is breaking
beneath me on jagged
coral
the flair and excitement
of destiny
I could hear her singing
I dont care if I cant
swim"

It shall be....
This is the quiet of night,
that calm as sun sinks below the horizon
and leaves behind
the still,
the shadows having fleeted
with the last rays,
leaving a vacuum of silence,
dark and incredibly simple;
when we are become a part,
invisible as we are,
of all that is.
I wait with you by the water
listening to the hiss of the gentle rain
on the surfaces around me Steven,
as aye Ann
"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

you could write a mile e, and
you could write a mile e, and i would read every
word, and never think it too long
and yet,,,here you are writing shorter works,
and i think i'm loving them as much
the imagery in this short
write is quite remarkable to me ...
in just 12 lines, you've had ne feel
the rush of night, and the wanting for something
just out of reach ...and yet, a part of it all
probably not your intent in this write ...
but that's what i got from it
you are truly masterful at being
able to express emotions and feelings
your turns of phrase are uniquely yours,
and always touch something in the reader

There is nothing...
that I can say after the remarks that I've just read, other than to say: You have touched so many people here. I do not believe that there is one of us, that cannot get something from one of your works. Rather than try to explain how and what this one makes me feel, I will just say; that I do. Your friend, ~ Gee
There is value to commenting and critique, tell us how you feel about our work.
This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

I find it interesting that
I find it interesting that you're finally being noticed in one of your *lesser* poems, Steven.
But you are being noticed. That's what matters in the end. It's a nifty poem, if you get the correlation between the title and the darkness filling, it's even better.

settling back like gliding
just a change of style
Im changing so much going on in my life
of course the poetry will relfect this
maybe some spark has gone from it
but embers small like candles votive
are interesting
reflection is everything
and its not about panoramic
all the time
sometimes its in the intimate
things
like a brush
a look
a whisper
ahh what do I know
Im just a poet.....
