Passion = Power
Passion = Power
The character with power, is just like a flower
It blossoms and it blooms; raises hopes, like a tower
It may fall in an instant, but has much resistance
So, although it is low, the tower is hope, and
It mean’s you can cope, when your strong - perseverance
And the character with power, is a bird with big wings
It can fly, we will die, but the bird, still sings
Music to our ears, to hear what joy brings
When I speak about power, I don’t mean wealth
It’s a passion and obsession, to give the people help

Hello, Michael,
Another thought provoking poem! I believe this is so true - passion does lead to power, and like you stated, not of wealth, but of compassion for others. I like to think of Roald Dahl's book, Matilda, who had powers that she used to unselfishly help others. One of the quotes: "Having power is not nearly as important as what you choose to do with it." Huge statement which this poem wonderfully affirms. I really enjoy reading this out loud - it has a strong and "powerful" rhythm to it. There are a couple typos or misspellings in the fifth line. I believe "mean's" should be "means" and "your" should be "you're" if you meant it as "you are."

Thanks for the corrections with grammar. It isn't that I'm unaware of these things, just rush the poems all the time. really have to stop doing that when submitting on a site like this where people are literate!
