To lay one’s dreams
At the feet of the status quo
Despite clairvoyance
Of the impending stampede…
Therein lies true courage of self

that was it. Anyone who has had children of school-age has to remember the chaos that is the first weeks of back to school!
I know that it is true still, because I have nieces and nephews and grandchildren just starting or in the grade-school levels.
I have to agree with your piece here; the impending stampede can be rather unnerving, even though we cannot be exactly sure of the outcome. I guess that maybe it is that very uncertainty that makes it so daunting. Well said, my friend, well said.

Hi, Tim,
My favorite word in this brief, but inspiring poem is "true." It really stands out to me. It emphasizes your title, one's dreams, and the feeling of being vulnerable. A great adjective for courage.
Thank you!

Same here with the new school year beginning! I really love how simple and short your poems are, yet they say so much! Great work!
