Mother's Boy
A man, so proud, so strong so tall
One i'm afraid to even talk to
As if one out- of- place word might
Cause anger or even hasty blows.
Yet he cries at night and..
I pretend i don't hear him;
His shameless whimpers and whispers
Tell me who is behind his tears.
The mornings go on, each one the same,
And i always know how unhappy he is without his mother.
Eight tearful years have passed,
You'd think it time to move on but...
He still clings to the hope that she will return
Holding a flower for his beige suit lapel.
Just a hint of the scent and he's in love with the smell;
His tears turn to dust as he longs for her in lust
But she will never come back to this place,
She's moved on to the next and he's left to chase
A dream of forgiveness and the hot taste of her lips.

I am just...
a bit confused as to the relationship of this man to the woman in the poem. Does he dream of a girl like his mother?
Is it is mother? I think that you have miss-labeled this piece. It is more like structured western. ~ Geezer.

Well
Like Geezer asked did he fell in love with a woman that reminds him of his mother?
I'll rather learn how to fish than beg for one.

No.
He is has an unnatural love for his own mother which he is trying to suppress. Unsuccessfully..

That's what...
what I was thinking, but didn't say right off. Now that we have that out of the way, I can say that while not something that plays to the norm; it is, in fact, a good piece of work, just not to everyone's taste. ~ Geezer.
