Ounces Steeped Out
Ounces Steeped Out…
I once stepped out on to the stage of time,
after all I know how the actors do act.
They’re mostly in pursuance of mime,
you know it to, it’s a moment we refract.
We can play to an audience of just one,
behold the actors find they’re in love.
Simply that’s the way it’s always done,
all that they needed was a gentle glove.
But when audience becomes two or more,
as they pass on to a different set or stage.
Rattling on like a train to a musical score,
that’s when notes become difficult to gauge.
Fanning flames as the director pleases,
no second thoughts are ever allotted.
Ounces of energized action he squeezes,
this will be done exactly as plotted.
Our audience roars with appreciation,
following every act as if they’re in dream.
Those who aren’t given over to total illation,
are not allowed to figure in this scheme.
Remarkable as it may or may not seem,
they do get it past the only acting sensor.
Clearly they’ve fattened him up with cream,
turning what was once critic, into mentor.
The show goes on gathering elementary pace,
no one tries to leave the set, stage or auditorium.
In the wings they’re preparing another about face,
cant is their screams let string instruments strum.

Hi Roscoe
Indeed all the world is a stage and the smaller the audience, the more intimate the conveyance. I like this poem but think if you were to read this out loud you'd find a few stumbles in flow. God knows I should be able to recognize them as they are My specialty lol..............stan

Roscoe Llane,
Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.
