Workshop idea
I developed a form of poetry called "morphing" poetry. In it one changes the form of the poem from one to another to mirror the poem's content. For example one could change from free form to rhyming. It appears to be going over pretty well. (If you want to see a sample you can look up my "Widow's Retreat")
I'm thinking of running a workshop of short duration in which we'll mainly just all give it a shot and then give one another feed back on each individual entry and the form in general.Aside from learning a new form this can also be useful in practicing different forms and seeing the difference between them as a poem evolves from one form to another. So let me know if you'd be interested in joining the shop so I'll know whether or not to proceed with it. .........stan

Hey Scott
Thanks. I hesitated bringing this uo for fear it would be perceived as me tooting my own horn. Then I thought about the form and how using it might actually be helpful in getting people who write mostly in one form to stick their toes out and dipping into a form they've thought of trying but haven't........stan

I will have to learn basics of forms first

AhHA
But nobody will be writing an entire poem in any single form. And the forms they choose can be any which they want. You for example could go from your comfortable Shakespeare form to a more "traditional free verse or bank verse, I can even see where going from one form then leaving the concluding three lines in a Japanese form.

like this
he smacked her bums
and it stung '
she had laid her head
on his leg
she was stunned when it turned
red hot steel
she caught a bone
then they were left by friends alone
twas the beach friends
they ran where
into the waters lair
none followed them there
