Blushing Oak
Autumn’s breath unto his neck
Did tantalize the ancient oak
Whose heart was stilled beneath her air
Although his leaves began to blush

Blushing Oak
Hello, Tim
The personification of this ancient oak is beautiful - such a strong, sturdy tree experiencing something so tender and gentle. I love the idea of the leaves blushing. Beautiful!
Thank you,
L

Yes
Very good poetic reflection. I like the way you personified it. Beautiful!

Excellent write
You never disappoint! I love how you use Autumn and the tree to display attraction and the reaction to that attraction.

Thank you
You’re so spot on.
Lemme turn you on to the other layer. This couple here are both mature and yet the love is young; even new feeling, thus all the blushing. On a personal level I really feel the intimacy between myself and my wife is just becoming mature or ripe after 18 years and we are in the “harvest” mode as evidenced by several of my other poems.
Then if you’re looking for something a bit more risqué…a cool confident much older woman, flirting whispers into a much younger man’s ear. Which he is awkward to process.
Your choice really but you like the first option because then I’m the one blushing.
