Biscayne

427 "Bisquick"
slap er through the gears
no clutch
took forever
and a clutch later
to master the trick

total factory
foam seats
not race buckets like today

sleeper radials
Polyglass
something to move
the beast
in a leap
when you stamp the gas

glass packs announce
my arrival
winning the drags
is the pink slip
survival

rear dog bauble head
in back deck
his eyes light
red when the brakes
are hit
like his action
soul has been
fired and lit

I find this inspiring...........

it is best that U write what U know...In this romp of a poem....I never had a souped up car
I put a V-8 three oh two in a formerly small car..mid sized mercury..two door 1978 Fairmont
or zephyr..it would have been something had I opted to put on a four barrel...it did not
smoke the tires...but I had a straight pipe for exhaust....or did I have a bomb muffler..
it was loud and I drove it with the three speed automatic shifting it from drive..too drive too
etc...wonder the transmission didnt fall out of it....I just knew what it could take...never
raced....But I did chum with the mechanical wizard farm boys..and another high brow whom
tinkered with his full sized two door sleds with small bloc high performance..those cars
did burn outs....the one chap went through the sixties cars then you could scrounge easy
and hop em up on parts ordered from california....a satellite..1968 had a turbocharger on
it...standard shift...his were all bondo and mismatched doors..hoods...rear decks...but go!!
and he could drive....been in these cars going well over a hundred....lunatic speed cause
these old rods were not the cars of today....everything shook like a bomber going into a
dive too evade night fighters or a fighter diving to do a ground strafe..one fishtail and game
over...farm boy..I helped him put a high output three fifty in a seventy one granny nova..for
some reason he left the original small radiator in.....and cooked the engine in less then a
month..after that he had a chevelle ..a sixty nine.....on and on.....today these cars are worth
big coin....back then..mid eighties they were plentiful!

with the free verse it is capable of writing just enough of knowledge with fiction to give it
the spice and flavor....a feeling and Essence...(thank U for this J ) and so forth...
this is an easier read...not the obtuse writing I throw up here on the board...
most of my own personal rides were rare factory option packages....I like having just
a little something special...Like my ladies I chose through the years.
I am glad this was palpable to the taste and a bit of gas and rev to keep the thought
revolutions up....

viva la revolution
