Mama Passed On But Never Gone

The storm before the dawn
The sunset and rise
On the other side she smiles
Passed on but never gone.

A stormy path
The rugged road
On the other side she folded
Passed on I heard her laugh.

There’s nothing to cause her harm
The moonrise in her goodnight
On the other side she waved goodbyes
Passed on but never gone.

She went into the goodnight
Two yellow daisies, butterflies
a piece of her and him on this side
Passed on but never gone with the clouds.

I wish this for my mom as well. The poem speaks simply to the heart. I like the refrain and wish you'd left it as is in the last line (vs. "with the clouds").

went but never left flying about in the clouds waiting for me she promised she will wait for me coz twill be difficult for me to find her beyond the clouds in the mist where HE they say also lives Bless me my doc says wait and see the earth still more needs of neo

What a beautiful poem, Barbara. I think the last stanza is the best, but it's all wonderful. I often think similar things about my Mom. I wish I had thanked her during her life for all the love and education she gave me. I notice this poem has a form, but not sure which. Good rhymes throughout. Best wishes, Gracy
