My! What A Lovely Pension You Have

Well, hallehluly,
you have landed a man,
and gotten him eating
out of both grubbing hands.

After fishing for years
throwing most of them back,
what makes him a keeper,
has he just got "the knack"?

You say "he makes me laugh",
but you've said that before.
"He treats me like a lady",
but they all held the door.

"He takes me to dinner".
Yeah, we've all heard of that.
But not once have you gushed,
'I'm in love with the sap'

The title is a doozy and the poem does not disappoint. It's been such a long time since I wrote with such wit I doubt whether I can anymore. Still, it is always heart warming to read.

the title amuses me too.
(is it bad form to comment on one's own stuff?)

I'm glad you enjoyed this.

Jiffypop was all the scorn
and in a time of sugahmommas
"send photo of boat and trailer"
would apply for many hired
studs from pastureized
retirement

marriage of convenience
I know many
lived a few
I helped out
caused a commotion
and ended up getting
the pink slip
but they were handy
too packing my bags
and dropping them
off and asking for
some of the cheque
they were good cooks!
and great comfort though!
maybe they were looking
for Arthur
and I barely made a persival
great line though!
the humor reminds me
of the New Yorker cartoons
I still read and love
I make sure to sprawl
out...Like today and leaf
through the pretentious rags
I gave up trying to fit in
after wanting it so bad!
funny cause now I get
along great with all the
ex's
and Ive got a taste for
the new popcorn!
Hurray!

They're called 'love you long time brides' aren't they?

Excellent title
