Resolutions(my code of life)
New year same resolutions
only to be broken by reality
why not explode the resolutions
and remain who we are
Tired, yes tired of what though
living like a prisoner in my own home
this too shall pass
tired of all the unrest
they will find a way eventually
I make no resolution
I am who I am and always will be
the love of family
makes me who I am
and who am I ?
only one that believes all will be right
with the world very soon
Hope, faith and love
lead me to my goal
to never stop believing
Doing good as others have done for me
living as every day might be the last
who knows what my future has in store
The love of family and a roof over my head .food on the table
this is all I need
and this is my wish for all mankind

Very interesting
I find the poem very interesting, and can relate to the realism painted herein. I consider the idea of a new year resolution as unrealistic and unattainable given the fact that it melts away in the face of storms. But others may see it differently. Thanks for the poem.
Bathe yourself with poetry and let the world go to pieces.

Yes...
Making New Year's resolutions is just a way of saying that you are not satisfied with things as they are and you will [try] to do better. I wouldn't be too hard on myself if things don't go the way as planned. You are right, Who was it that said: "The best laid plans of men and mice go astray?" Or was it mice and men? Either way, fate or whatever you want to call it, has a way of derailing our plans; and that includes plans for bettering our behavior or situation. I say "I will just strive to do better" and that is something that you can do everyday, not just as a New Year's thing. A wish for the rest of humanity, as you would wish for yourself, is a thing that shows your humility and care for the rest of us. Well put and well done! ~ Geez.

Dear Chrys,
Amazing poem that captures the problem with New Year's resolutions so perfectly. One question: is "Hope, faith and love" a reference to 1 Corinthians 13? If not, that's fine!
Great job!
