Regrets

How can I let you know how much I appreciate you,

In a meaningful enough way,

Throwing away the part of me who acts tough,

I call my own bluff,

Past actions that I may not rewrite,

And they plague me day and night,

Regret is putting up a good fight,

I wish I would've been so quick to snap and bite,

Out of anger, confusion, and spite.

Hear me now,

Writing from somewhere in my minds clouds,

But all this I wrote for the here and now, regrets of a teenagers howl, like a wolf ,

Piercing through the thick cold demeanor,

I'm glad I didn't get meaner,

I had enough control to stop my rage,

now it's in it's cage,

I struggle to forgive myself,

For the punishment I saw you have to go through with me.

If not for you I wouldn't have learned my ABC'S,

All the way up to the Z,

If this is the only life we get,

I hope one day it can be put behind me,

And I can forget,

And achieve satisfactory enough,

Said and spoke with the uttermost sincerity,

That I believe this won't leave my memory,

I couldn't help this,

I will remember this till I'm a hundred and forty.

You have had a rough run in so many ways,

How many of your precious days have been sacrificed for us children,

To have all we need and then some.

You are greatness,

While I was cold and faceless,

I wish for this poem,

To be powerful enough,

To extract emotions from my dome,

You are an amazing person,

I express this well versed,

Jumping out of my heart,

Burning in my hand,

You protected me from my fears,

And all Ive done is give you miserable years,

It moves me to tears,

You deserve the opposite of what I've put you through,

All the love you show me,

You shouldn't have to extract it from me.

You've been having bad days,

Ive seen it in so many selfish ways,

My psyche is the one who pays along with you,

Please I have to make this worthwhile,

To try and make you smile.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Regrets" explores themes of appreciation, regret, forgiveness, and the desire to make amends. The poet expresses a deep appreciation for someone and acknowledges past actions that have caused regret and pain. The poem also touches on the idea of personal growth and the hope for a better future.

One suggestion for improvement is to consider the overall structure and flow of the poem. While the emotions and sentiments are clear, the poem could benefit from a more consistent rhythm and structure. Consider using consistent line lengths or incorporating a specific rhyme scheme to enhance the musicality of the poem.

Additionally, some lines could be revised for clarity and impact. For example, the line "I call my own bluff" could be rephrased to create a stronger image or metaphor. Similarly, the line "I'm glad I didn't get meaner" could be expanded upon to provide more context and depth to the emotions being expressed.

Furthermore, the poem could benefit from further exploration of the specific actions or situations
